Chef & Winemaker Dinner - Fort Smith

We are so excited to announce the return of the Chef & Winemaker Dinner to the Fort Smith area!  Chef Matthew McClure of The Hive Bentonville will be working closely with Kerrin Laz of K. Laz Wine Collection of Yountville, California, to develop perfect pairings for our guests.  The Chef & Winemaker Dinner 2016 will be hosted by Josh & Jenny Kilgore on Thursday, September 22 at 6:00 pm.  Invitations will be sent out very soon.

Chef Matt, an Arkansas native, studied at the New England Culinary Institute in Vermont before working at a number of top-rated restaurants Boston.  Matt returned back to Arkansas after some years to work under the direction of past Chef & Winemaker featured chef Lee Richardson at the Capitol Hotel.  This position allowed Matt to develop strong relationships with local farmers and utilize the food resources native to his home state.  The menu Chef Matt developed at The Hive showcases the Matt’s commitment to support local producers.  Matt’s creativity and wonderful cuisine led to him being named Food and Wine Magazine’s “The People’s Best New Chef” for the Midwest in 2015 as well as a James Beard Award semi-finalist for the “Best Chef: South” award in 2014, 2015, and 2016.

Kerrin Laz spent a dozen years as wine director at Dean & DeLuca before opening her own tasting room and retail shop, K. Laz Wine Collection, in Yountville, CA.  Ms. Laz also now has her own wine label, featuring winemaker Celia Welch.  Ms. Laz is the perfect wine host for an event of this nature and we are so excited to bring her to you!
