With 2 locations, 1 located in the Marilyn Foster Complex at 7701 S. Zero and the other at Bost's Dardanelle facility, the Adult Development Centers work to provide a variety of learning opportunities. Consumers attending the either Adult Development Center acquire greater knowledge in: home-living skills, time/money management skills, community living skills, and computer skills.
Individuals served learn from the staff of trained professionals how to behave appropriately in different types of everyday settings. The centers promote individual responsibility for one's actions and respect for others.
Accepted into the program are individuals age 18 to 21 who have a high school diploma or certificate of completion, and individuals age 21 and above who have been diagnosed with a developmental disability and who have one or more handicapping conditions.
Referrals to the center are accepted from Developmental Disabilities Services (DDS), Arkansas Rehabilitation Services, area public school systems, and other day centers and vocational training centers.
