Audrey Smith, Patience and Joy

In July, we featured our ICF/IID Program. Ms. Lesa Fuller has this to say: “I would like to feature Audrey Smith, Program Service Instructor, as the ICF employee this month. Audrey has been working at the Willow Creek ICF facility for approximately 6 years. I asked Audrey why she applied with Bost and why she has stayed at Bost. She stated, “I applied with Bost because I thought it would be a joy to work with the consumers. The consumers are also the reason I have stayed at Bost.” Can you tell me about some of the people you’ve met while working with us? “I have met some very interesting people while at Bost also some that are very caring.” What is the hardest part about being a Program Service Instructor? “Getting attached to the consumers and then tragically losing them due to illness.” What would you tell someone who is thinking about working in this field? “Patience. You have to have a lot of patience and compassion to work in this field.”

I would like to thank Audrey and all the direct care staff for all they do for our consumers.”
